The Ataxia Foundation
The Ataxia Foundation is a non-for-profit organisation based in Sweden, Scandinavia and was founded in July 2023 and officially launched on October 2023.
Our mission is to aid in the development of treatment alternatives and to bring awareness to those living with ataxia.
We invite anyone who shares our mission to promote research, and to spread awareness about ataxia to apply for a membership, it’s free.
Donations and gifts to the Ataxia Foundation go to the development, maintenance and expansion of our mission statement, and, through our Ataxia Research Grant Program (ARGP), managed by the Ataxia Foundation, we aim to grant financial aid to current, and future, research projects.
All memorial gifts to the Ataxia Foundation go to the Ataxia Fund.

Research Grant Programs
AF plans to support research through funding competitive grants to advance therapeutic development for ataxia. From basic research and clinical studies to drug development, we encourage all researchers, from all parts of the world, to follow our Ataxia Research Grant Program (ARGP). By fostering collaboration and innovation, we aim to accelerate scientific breakthroughs that bring us closer to effective treatments and, ultimately, a cure for ataxia.

Task Force
The Ataxia Foundation is assembling leading experts from various fields of ataxia research to form dedicated Task Forces. Each Task Force plays a crucial role in assessing and evaluating research grant applications, ensuring that our funds are allocated to projects with the greatest potential impact. By bringing together top scientists, clinicians, and specialists, we strive to maximize the effectiveness of our funding and accelerate progress toward better treatments and a cure for ataxia.
